Fifteen-year-old Sabina is devastated when she learns she can no longer stay with her foster family. She suspects they want to get rid of her because she's too much trouble. That same evening, the family gathers for an awkward birthday dinner for their son Thomas, who's turning 25. Thomas is visiting from Copenhagen with his girlfriend Rebecca (30) and their newborn baby. Father Jens (55) prepares the meal, while mother Anita (50) arrives late and drunk. Tensions simmer beneath the surface as unspoken truths and hidden conflicts hang in the air. By chance, Sabina discovers Jens' service pistol. Desperate to uncover the truth, she takes the family hostage.
