Maia (20) lives with her grandmother on a cattle farm on a small Danish island. As the local environment begins to change and her grandmother falls ill, Maia is struck by climate anxiety and decides to take action to help save the planet. In her attempt to convince her grandmother and the island's residents of the need to transform their farming practices and way of life, a rift develops between Maia and Nora.

MAIA AGAINST THE WORLD is a dramedy about a young woman's efforts to protect what she loves most and the challenges of communicating the planet's - and her own - bleak future across generational divides.

The project was pitched at Gothenburg Filmfestival at the Discovery section and will be shot in late spring 2025.
